6D/5N– Splendid Kashmir (Srinagar, Sonamarg, Gulmarg, Pahalgam)

Kashmir is situated at 1515 m, this northernmost area of the Indian subcontinent is separated from the PirPanjal Range and surrounded by the Karakorum Range on the North. KASHMIR is a marvel aptly called Paradise on Earth by the Mughals who travelled long distances to spend their summers here. They patronized the development of arts and crafts and left behind a rich heritage of exquisite craftsmanship. They discovered the various hill stations and laid Srinagar’s famous Mughal Gardens here. Jammu and Kashmir is divided into 3 main regions Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, whereby Kashmir is the principal region of the state. Srinagar is the Summer state capital and is situated at an Altitude of 1,730 metres above sea level. The city is located on both the sides of the Jhelum River, which is called Vyath in Kashmir.

Day 1 Arrival in Srinagar, city tour, Hotel stay:

On your arrival at the Srinagar International Airport, you will be taken for a 35 minutes drive through the heart of New Srinagar city, passing the Abdullah bridge which connects the banks of the Jhelum river. After some rest, a day of local sightseeing that includes a visit to the famous Mughal gardens of Nishat and Shalimar. Dinner and overnight stay in Hotel.

Day 2 Srinagar to Gulmarg - Srinagar:

After breakfast in the morning, proceed towards Gulmarg. Enroute you get to see the beautiful Tangmarg town and drive ahead on a scenic drive of 14 kilometers to Gulmarg. Arrive in Gulmarg early in the afternoon and check in at the hotel. Later, begin a short tour, boarding the Gondola cable car system (the 08 minutes ropeway). Descend back to Gulmarg after an hour and later indulge in some horse-riding. Overnight stay at Gulmarg.

Day 3 Srinagar to Sonmarg- Srinagar:

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to Sonmarg which is one of the most beautiful drives from Srinagar.
Sonmarg is at 98kms from Srinagar and it will take about 3 hours to reach Sonmarg.
The moment you enter Sonmarg, the first thing that you notice will be the snow-covered mountains that form the backdrop of the town.
Covered with alpine trees from all sides, Sonmarg has a few of the loveliest flower collections in Jammu and Kashmir.
You may take a pony ride (at your own expense) to Thajiwas Glacier where snow remains round the year.
Return to your hotel in Srinagar by the evening.
Overnight stay in Srinagar.

Day 4 Srinagar - Pahalgam (96 KM; 3 hrs)

After breakfast, you will check out from the Deluxe Houseboat and proceed to Pahalgam (The Valley of Shepherds) on the National Highway 1A. This road connects the Valley to the rest of the country.
You will drive past the Saffron Fields of Pampore, the marvelous Avantipura Ruins, and the village of Bijbehara which remains famous as the breadbasket of Kashmir.
You can even sample a few exotic loaves of bread sold by vendors near the road.
You will then switch to the national highway at Khanabal and drive through the second largest city of Anantnag.
Drive through the pine forests to arrive at Pahalgam which is unarguably one of the most beautiful places on earth.
On arrival check in to the hotel in Pahalgam.
After reaching Pahalgam you can visit Kashmir Valley, Debian, Baisaran by pony, or can also visit Aru/Betab Valley in Chandanwari by Private Jeep (at your own expense).
Stay overnight at a hotel.

Day 5 Pahalgam - Srinagar (96 KM; 3 hrs); Marvel at the beauty of the Mughal Gardens

After breakfast transfer to Srinagar.
On arrival check in to the hotel.
Later some half a day of local sightseeing of Srinagar which includes the Mughal Gardens, visiting Chashma Shahi.
The garden was developed on the orders of Emperor Shah Jahan in 1632 by Ali Mardan Khan around an abundant spring emerging from the slopes of the Zabarwan Mountains.
The waters of the spring are renowned for their cool and rejuvenating qualities; Nishat Bagh was built by Asaf Khan, the brother-in-law of Jehangir in 1632 AD, and Shalimar Bagh was built by Jehangir for his wife empress Nur Jahan.
Built between a period of 14 years the two gardens are a heritage left behind by the erstwhile Mughals, whose taste for laying exquisite gardens was fascinating.
In the evening enjoy shopping at the Local Market.
Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.

Transfer to Srinagar Airport

After breakfast, you can proceed for checkout from the hotel.
Transfer by car to Srinagar Airport for departure to the next destination.
